Culture Shock: A Tease of What's to Come

As a guest of T3Media Studios, I (Christopher Fagan), Lana Marie, & Joy Fagan were invited to the premiere of Culture Shock Expo in Pasadena, Texas. It was a tempting taste of what this new event could become. For its debut, it was a solid effort, with guests like Veronica Taylor and a number of talented artists. Seeing our very own Loopy Lopez Cosplay as a guest judge for the cosplay contest was a particular thrill. The crowd was eager, and the passion was palpable.

This event has the potential to be so much more. The name, Culture Shock Expo, is a promise of something bold and electrifying, but the reality was a bit too tame. To truly live up to its name, it needs a sexier location and a more aggressive marketing campaign. I think the brand would be better off leaning into the modern and edgy—movies, comics, and cosplay—and leaving the nostalgia in the background. If they can embrace that shift, Culture Shock Expo could become the most thrilling event in Texas.

A Sinful Night at Houston Horror Fest

We then decided to indulge our darker desires and bought tickets to the Houston Horror Fest. We weren't invited, but this was a night we wouldn't have missed for anything. The air was thick with excitement, filled with fantastic cosplayers and a crowd that embraced its wicked side. The T3Media Studios team let loose, and I, dressed as Ruby Rhod, was a hit. I captivated the crowd, making for an unforgettable night of fun and mischief.

We had the pleasure of meeting some of the most alluring figures in horror. We got to rub elbows with Holly Marie Combs from Charmed, Dee Wallace from Cujo, Alex Vincent from Child's Play, and the stunning Liana Liberato.

I shared a particularly provocative conversation with Liana about her role in Based on a True Story. We were the first to bring it up, and she truly appreciated our forwardness. The night ended with us exhausted but completely satisfied. We're already counting down the days until we can get into trouble there again next year.
