Straight out of the theater, I'm bringing you an immediate reaction to Weapons, the latest film from the director of Barbarian. Just like its predecessor, Weapons delivers an experience that defies expectations and demands a completely blind viewing. If you're planning to see this, resist all trailers – you need to go in with a clean slate.
Director: From the director of Barbarian (Zach Cregger)
Cast: Julia Garner, Josh Brolin
Synopsis: Weapons is less a conventional film and more an immersive, chaotic thrill ride. It's a disorienting journey where the setup is completely disjointed from the payoff, leaving you utterly lost in the "why" and "who done it." Expect no guardrails, no seatbelts – you'll be pulled in all directions, stuck to your seat, and completely immersed in a pure emotional rollercoaster of horror, rage, and suspense.
The Review:
I can tell you that Weapons is an experience that will "change you completely." It's a "chaotic thrill ride," "pure emotion in motion," where "the horror, the rage, the suspense, everything, it's all happening at you all at once." The title Weapons perfectly encapsulates the film's intense nature, unlike Barbarian where the meaning was less immediately clear.
This movie is "nuts" with "blood and guts going nuts." Despite the intense, almost overwhelming experience, I can't wait to see it again, calling it "the worst experience of my life" in the best possible way. I highly recommend it for those seeking a truly unique and intense cinematic journey. You'll leave the theater still trying to process what you've just witnessed, but I promise, you'll be thankful for the ride.
