Ep. 132 Ruby Rose Quits Batwoman

Episode 132 – T3Medias

The Hollywood Reporter released an article that said the following: Ball and Chain — the superhero package that will reteam Jungle Cruise stars Emily Blunt with Dwayne Johnson — has landed at Netflix. The project is based on the '90s comic of the same name by Scott Lobdell, which Oscar nominee Emily V. Gordon will adapt. Johnson and Blunt will play a couple struggling in their marriage and who are equipped with superpowers. However, their powers only work when they’re together. So Chris what do you think about Ball And Chain being produced for Netflix?

It was reported on Deadline that Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, the dine-in theater, had three locations in Arizona file for Chapter 11 amid the impact from exhibition nationwide. It was later reported on BuzzFeed that Alamo Drafthouse Has A New On-Demand Streaming Service offering new releases for rent (starting at $3.99) or to buy (starting at $9.99 with John Mihaly of BuzzFeed saying “Think of it as your new video store”. Chris, what is going on with Alamo filing for bankruptcy and starting a streaming service?

We received an email from the Original Film Publicity department of Netflix in regard to the movie The Lovebirds, starring Issa Rae, Kumail Nanjiani, and directed by Michael Showalter. The movie was originally slated to go to theaters April 3rd by Paramount Pictures. It was delayed due to the pandemic closing theaters worldwide and the rights were sold to Netflix who will release it digitally on May 22, 2020. Chris are we expecting an early screening and review on our blog and channel?

This is a last-minute shocker: Ruby Rose, the star of the CW’s freshman drama series Batwoman, is leaving the Warner Bros. TV/Berlanti Prods. drama after one season. The series, which already has been renewed for a second season, will continue with the title role getting recast. Here’s what she had to say, “I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season,” Rose said in a statement “This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew, and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles.” Chris, you watch Batwoman, were you surprised at this news that just dropped?
